Greenleaf Receives Key to the City
After law-enforcement careers spanning 26 and less than 2 years, Officer Ken Greenleaf and Caden retire with honors.
Redondo Beach honored recently retired Officer Ken Greenleaf and his K-9 partner, Caden, at Tuesday's City Council meeting with proclamations and a key to the city.

The 26-year veteran of the has handled five different dogs; Caden is his most recent.
The officer-dog pair, who recently took home an all-around gold medal at the World Police and Fire Games, received a standing ovation as Mayor Mike Gin handed Greenleaf the key. Gin also shook Caden's paw.

"The city is really going to miss Kenny," said Councilman Steve Aspel, who called Greenleaf "probably my best friend in the entire world" and "the face of our city and the face of our police department around the world."
Greenleaf also took the opportunity to purchase Caden from the city for the princely sum of $1βor, rather, 94 centsβwith money from a blue ceramic piggy bank.

"I took 6 percent away," he told City Manager Bill Workman.
