Local Cantor to Sing at Dodger Stadium

The cantor for in Redondo Beach will take center stage at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, City News Service reported Friday.

Cantor Jessica Hutchings will sing the national anthem and "God Bless America" in honor of Jewish Community Day.

Hutchings told Redondo Beach Patch that this will be her first time singing at Dodger Stadium.

Shawn Green, a former Dodger outfielder who is Jewish, will sign copies of his book, The Way of Baseball: Finding Stillness at 95 mph, in the right field team store before the game. Green will also throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

The team plans to make kosher food available during the game.
