Man Beaten During Robbery Attempt: Redondo Beach Crime Blotter
The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from Dec. 1 -7.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.
Robbery
- Dec. 1 - 1500 block Aviation Boulevard
- A suspect was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after they robbed a cashier at gunpoint. RBPD said the suspect walked up to a cash register at an open store and demanded money before fleeing on foot.
- Nov. 30 - 100 block of Catalina Avenue
- A suspect entered a store and grabbed a bag of chips and a vitamin water before attempting to flee. According to police, an employee tried to block the front door, but the suspect grabbed her arm and was able to exit. The suspect was described as a Hispanic boy with brown hair.
- Dec. 5 - 1500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard
- A man was beaten in the back of a business during a robbery attempt, police said. The man told police he was charging his phone in the back of a business when a suspect approached him and demanded he hand over his belongings. The victim refused, which prompted the suspect to punch him in the face several times. The victim was able to flee with his belongings. The suspect was described as a bald Hispanic man.
Residential Burglary
- Nov. 30 - 1800 block of Aviation Way
- A suspect attempted to break into a home by prying the door open and jamming a key in the lock. The attempt was unsuccessful and nothing was reported stolen.
- Nov. 29-30- 1300 block of South Catalina Avenue
- A suspect broke into a car parked inside an underground parking garage and stole a notebook, various documents and a work badge. No additional information was available.
Taken From Vehicle
- Dec. 3 - 100 block of South Juanita Avuene
- A tailgate was taken from off the back of a gray 2015 Toyota Tacoma that was parked. No additional information was available.
- Dec. 1-2 - 2400 block of Carnegie Lane
- A tailgate was taken from off the back of a silver 2014 Toyota Tacoma that was parked on the street. No additional information was available.
- Nov. 29 - 700 block of Julia Avenue
- Cash and credit cards were taken from a car that was possibly left unlocked, RBPD said. No additional information was available.
