Mayor Appoints New Commissioners
The Redondo Beach City Council approves Mayor Mike Gin's appointments to multiple city commissions.

At its Aug. 21 meeting, the approved Mayor Mike Gin's new appointments and reappointments to multiple city commissions, including the city's youth commission.
Youth commissioners advise the mayor and city council on recreational, social and employment opportunities for youth; reports on youth drug use in Redondo Beach; and investigates other youth concerns, according to the city's website. The 12 youth commissioners serve one-year terms, and this year's commissioners will be officially sworn in at the Sept. 18 council meeting. The terms expire June 30, 2013.
All but two of the appointees on the city's other commissions will serve four-year terms beginning Oct. 1 of this year and ending Oct. 1, 2016. Harbor commission appointee Kari Keidser and historical commission appointee Dana Brunk will serve three-year terms beginning Oct. 1 of this year and ending Oct. 1, 2015.
