Here are some things to look forward to this week in Redondo Beach.

Happy Monday! Here are five things Redondo Beach residents should know this week:
- The California Energy Commission will conduct its first site visit of the AES Redondo Beach Generating Station and public hearing, kicking off the process to repower the old power plant on Harbor Drive. The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center at 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd. in North Redondo Beach.
- The Redondo Beach City Council meeting for this week has been canceled. The next city council meeting is scheduled for Oct. 8.
- Redondo Beach city offices will be closed this Friday.
- Friday's top headline was Blotter: More Bicycle Thefts.
- Today's photo of the day is from a live-fire training exercise for local fire departments on Sunday. Want to submit your own photo of the day?
