Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Appoints New Leaders

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems appoints Michelle Scarpella and Stephen Hogan to vice presidential positions in the sector.

Michelle A. Scarpella and Stephen D. Hogan have been appointed to leadership positions in Northrop Grumman's sector, the company announced Tuesday in a news release.

"Michelle Scarpella and Steve Hogan have proven themselves to be strong leaders of some of this company's hallmark programs and systems," said Pat McMahon, sector vice president and general manager of military aircraft systems, in the news release. "I am confident that, in the face of our industry's current challenges, they will apply their considerable skills and experience to ensure these key programs continue to deliver results on time and on budget in the years ahead."

Scarpella, who was most recently the vice president of the company's F/A-18 programs, has been appointed vice president of the Northrop Grumman F-35 program, the company said. During her 25-year tenure at Northrop Grumman, Scarpella has worked on the B-2, Joint STARS, E-2C Hawkeye a, F-5 aircraft and T-38 aircraft programs.

She holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and a certificate in executive management from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Hogan will replace Scarpella as the vice president of the F/A-18 program in addition to keeping his current assignment as a leader of the E/A-18G Growler and E/A-6B programs, which are part of Northrop Grumman's information operations and electronic attack business, the company said.

After serving as an acquisition professional with the Department of the Navy, Hogan came to Northrop Grumman in 2003, the company said.
