Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Vehicle, Torrance Police Say
A 57-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night, Torrance police said.
TORRANCE, CA — A 57-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night, Torrance police said.
A driver in a 2011 Honda CRV was driving north on Hawthorne Boulevard and struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Artesia and Hawthorne boulevards about 9:14 p.m., police said in a news release.
The pedestrian, a 57-year-old male, was treated by Torrance Fire Department paramedics but died from his injuries, police said. The pedestrian's identity was withheld pending notification to a next of kin.

The driver in the Honda was not injured, and alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this
collision, police said.
Eastbound, Westbound, and Northbound lanes of Artesia Boulevard and Hawthorne Boulevard
were temporarily closed for approximately 4 hours.
