Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Once the holiday is over and the ornaments are safely stored, let Athens Services turn your Christmas tree into mulch.

Redondo Beach residents are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees once the holiday is over. All trees will be turned into mulch.

For single-family units, Christmas trees will be picked up on normal trash days beginning next Monday through Jan. 13, 2012, according to a notice posted on the city's website.

Residents of multi-family units and businesses with centralized trash services can drop off their Christmas trees at one of the following locations from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Dec. 31, Jan 7-8:

Because the service is for Redondo residents only, the city requires address verification.

Trees should have no decorations, tinsel, metal and plastic containers, ornaments, stands or lights, and flocked trees and trees coated with fire retardant will be accepted.
