Redondo Beach Resident Hosts Fundraising Dinner to Help Kids in Africa
Sean Johnston hopes to raise enough money this year to build bungalows and maybe dorms for the school he helped built.

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- A Redondo Beach resident is hosting his ninth annual fundraising dinner to help improve the living conditions of orphans living in Kenya.
Sean Johnston has been working on this project for nine years. Each year, Johnston travels back and forth or Kibera, Kenya to work on several projects at the Siloam Orphanage, according to the Beach Reporter. This year, he hopes to raise enough money to start building bungalows and maybe dorms at the school he helped built.
The annual Kids to Kids fundraise will be at the Century Club in Manhattan Beach from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26. Tickets are $50, which food, cocktails and a raffle.

Johnston has seen his efforts paid off. One former student is now studying at a Tech school while another opened a salon and is helping to put her brother through school.
