Redondo Police Record 7 DUI Arrests
Statewide, the CHP arrests more than 1,300 people on suspicion of drunken driving.

Redondo Beach police officers arrested seven people on suspicion of driving under the influence during the Labor Day weekend, traffic investigator Jeffrey Mendence told Patch.

In Los Angeles County, the CHP arrested 305 people on suspicion of drunken driving between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday. Four traffic fatalities were recorded, up from one death over Labor Day weekend last year.

Statewide, the California Highway Patrol reported 1,399 arrests on suspicion of drunken driving as of early Monday morning, according to City News Service. Last year, 1,360 people were arrested during the same period.
The CHP reported 16 fatalities statewide this year. Last year, there were 11 fatalities, according to the CHP.

Statistics from the highway patrol cover freeways and some county roads, but they don't include deaths or arrests handled by the state's sheriffs' departments or local police departments.
