Redondo Union 9th Grade English Summer Reading Lists

Freshmen enrolled in both college prep and honors English at Redondo Union High School have summer reading assignments.

All freshmen enrolled in English classes at have summer reading assignments, according to reading lists posted on the Redondo Union website.

College prep freshman are encouraged to read one or two books by the start of the school year. As an incentive, students who do their summer reading will get extra credit on a class assignment during the first week of school.

Freshmen in English honors classes must read Animal Farm and The Old Man and the Sea, as well as complete an assignment due Aug. 28 (the first day of school) for credit.

For the assignment, students must answer questions related to each novel and support their answers with several paragraphs containing specific details and quotes. The assignment should be typed, single-spaced and in 12-point font. See attached .pdf for the questions.
