Resident Spooked By Arm In Window: Redondo Beach Crime Blotter

The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from Nov. 23 to 30.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.

Robbery

  • Nov. 21 - 2700 block of Artesia Boulevard
    • A suspect stole a pack of cigarettes from a store in the early morning, RBPD said. According to police, the man broke the lower panel of the front glass door and threatened to shoot an employee at the counter. The suspect fled from the store, but he was described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s.

Commercial Burglary

  • Nov. 27-28 - 2700 block of 182nd Street
    • Suspects reportedly stole eight grave marker heads from a business while it was closed. Police said it it unknown how the thieves got into the building and no additional information was available.
  • Nov. 23 - 200 block of South Pacific Coast Highway
    • A suspect broke into a secured location and turned over items and left trash and clothing on the ground, police said. It is unknown whether or not anything was stolen.
  • Nov. 22-23 - 2500 block of Artesia Boulevard
    • The front door to a building was shattered, but nothing was stolen from inside according to police.

Residential Burglary

  • Nov. 28 - 600 block of Esplanade
    • A package with conditioner and snacks was stolen from an apartment complex mail area, police said. The only detail given about the suspect was that it was a man.
  • Nov. 1-28 - 1300 block of Amethyst Street
    • A key fob for a motorcycle and a Specialized S Works Robaix bicycle were stolen from a garage, police said. According to RBPD, the suspect potentially tampered with a car inside the garage by putting drain-o in the oil tank. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 27-28 - 2000 block of Carnegie Lane
    • A suspect took mail and packages from locked mailboxes for a residence, police said. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 28 - 300 block of The Village
    • An e-bike was reported stolen from an underground parking structure, but was later recovered by the Torrance Police Department.
  • Nov. 28 - 2600 block of Vanderbilt Lane
    • Police said a suspect forcefully opened four locked mailboxes, but it was unknown whether or not anything was stolen.
  • Nov. 28 - 2500 block of Vanderbilt Lane
    • Two men allegedly pried open locked mailboxes in an apartment complex, but nothing was reported stolen police said.
  • Nov. 27-28 - 700 block of Meyer Lane
    • A man used a tool to pry open locked mailboxes, but it was unknown whether or not anything was stolen, police said.
  • Nov. 26 - 2600 block of 190th Street
    • Light and bathroom fixtures were taken from a property under construction, police said. According to RBPD, the suspect was seen leaving the location in a 2010 white Ford F-350.
  • Nov. 25-26 - 900 block of Camino Real
    • A Vivi e-bike was stolen from an underground parking garage, police said. The bike was locked to a pole in the garage, but the lock was cut according to RBPD. No suspect information was available.
  • Nov. 26 - 600 block of South Catalina Avenue
    • A suspect got into a locked storage area inside an apartment parking garage and stole a specialized Camber mountain bike and a specialized Levo eclectic mountain bike. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 25 - 1600 block of Spreckels Lane
    • A suspect damaged the back door to a home to get inside and steal items, police said. Credit cards, a passport, jewelry, DD-214, a birth certificate, a savings bond, a firebox safe and a gold coin were reported stolen. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 24-25 - 1200 block of South Catalina Avenue
    • Two bicycles were taken from a gated apartment garage, police said. The gate required a key to open, police said. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 25 - 3200 block of Gibson Place
    • A suspect attempted to get into a home through an open window near the front door, police said. The resident of the home woke up to see an arm reaching through the window and yelled, which caused the suspect to flee. No additional information was available.

Vehicle Burglary

  • Nov. 28 - 800 block of Torrance Boulevard
    • A suspect smashed a rear window of a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover and items were stolen inside. An iPad, an Apple Watch, school books, a Tumi portfolio bag, a Mac book laptop computer, two backpacks and iPods were reported stolen, RBPD said.
  • Nov. 24 - 300 block of North Harbor Drive
    • The passenger side window of a silver Toyota Rav4 was shattered and a Calvin Klein purse containing credit cards, a driver's license, medical forms and cash was stolen, police said.

Taken From Vehicle

  • Nov. 25 - 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard
    • A rear license plate was stolen from a parked 2004 Infiniti 635, police said. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 22 - 2400 block of Ives Lane
    • A man reportedly stole Oakley sunglasses, Bolle sunglasses, a hairbrush and cash from a possibly unlocked 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, police said.
