Resident Blocks Burglary In Progress : Redondo Beach Crime Blotter

The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from Nov. 1 to 7.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.

Residential Burglary

  • Nov. 3 - 1300 block of Esplanade
    • According to police, a suspect went inside a possibly unlocked home and stole insurance cards, a fishing license, a firearms safety certificate, a checkbook, a diamond ring and cash.
  • Nov. 2 - 1300 block of South Catalina Avenue
    • Police said a suspect entered into a possibly unlocked residence and stole multiple bags, including two diaper bags, credit cards and Kate Spade sunglasses.
  • Nov. 2 - 1300 block of Esplanade
    • A suspect stole a backpack, a laptop computer and two diamond rings from a possibly unlocked home, police said.
  • Nov. 1 - 1200 block of South Catalina Avenue
    • According to police, a suspect attempted to break into a residence using a hidden key, but the resident blocked them from getting inside. Nothing was stolen.
  • Nov. 1 - 600 block of Avenue C
    • According to police, multiple suspects tried to break into a home but were scared away when the security alarm went off. They were seen leaving the scene in a silver Ford Flex.

Commercial Burglary

  • Nov. 5-6 - 800 block of Inglewood Avenue
    • According to police, suspects jumped a chain link fence and pried open a game box to steal power tools, hand tools and batteries.

Vehicle Burglary

  • Nov. 4 - 2200 block of Mathews Avenue
    • A suspect pried open a lock on the tailgate of a 2007 Ford Ranger and stole multiple tools from inside, police said.
  • Nov. 4 - 800 block of North Catalina Avenue
    • A suspect broke into a locked trailer and stole tool boxes, tools, spare parts and wire from inside. One tool box was recovered, police said.
  • Nov. 4-5 - 2300 block of Carnegie Lane
    • Multiple suspects smashed the rear driver's side window of a 2006 GMC Canyon and stole multiple tools from inside. The suspects were seen leaving the scene in an old model burgundy SUV, police said.
  • Nov. 4 - 800 block of North Catalina Avenue
    • Suspects attempted to rob a Chevrolet motorhome, but were unsuccessful, police said.
  • Nov. 3-4 - 800 block of North Catalina Avenue
    • A suspect drilled into the lock of a Mercedes-Benz Forest River Forrester, but nothing was stolen from inside, police said.
  • Nov. 4 - 600 block of South Gertruda Avenue
    • A suspect stole miscellaneous tools from the inside of a Ford F-350 after smashing the rear driver's side window, police said.
  • Nov. 2 - 1600 block of Hawthorne Avenue
    • A suspect stole a laptop, backpack and other personal property from an unlocked 2021 Toyota Tacoma, police said.
