Ruby/PCH Torn Up for Sewer Repair
The intersection of Pacific Coast Highway, Guadalupe Avenue and Ruby Street is torn up for sewer main repair.
Crews have torn up part of the intersection of Ruby Street, Guadalupe Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway in South Redondo Beach to replace part of the aging sewer main that runs under Ruby Street, according to Redondo Beach City Engineer Steve Huang.
The construction, which started last week, is being done in phases and should be finished within the next month, he said.
"That particular area will normally take about 4-6 weeks to finish … (unless) you run into a real problem—for instance, the sewer line is no longer there," Huang said. "Then that's some major work we have to take care of."

Nevertheless, Wednesday's rainy weather will probably make the project run longer, he said, but crews will do their best to lessen any delays.
"We try to move as fast as we can," Huang said.
