RUHS Girls Cross Country Takes Third at State
Redondo beat out highly ranked teams to place third in the Division 2 state title.

Riding off a first place finish in the Bay League finals and a state-qualifying third place finish at the CIF Southern Section Finals, the Redondo Union girl's cross country team ended the season with a third place finish in the Division 2 state title in Fresno, Calif. Saturday.
The Sea Hawks beat out favored teams including Simi Valley to earn their third place finish.
Lyndsey Mull, Rachel Bush, and Cara Ulizio finished in Nos. 7, 13, and 14 spots with times of 17:54, 18:06, and 18:13, respectively, in the race. In addition, Ulizio was the top finishing “3rd runner” and Kayla Ferron, with a time of 18:15, was the top finishing “4th runner” of any team.

"The incredible grouping of our first 4 runners, 7th to 16th place was classic Redondo running, and a key factor in their enviable 3rd place finish," said a post on the Redondo Union Cross Country website.
Sagus High School out of Santa Clarita took the Division 2 state title with 67 points, San Diego’s La Costa Canyon finished second with 88 points, and Redondo finished the meet with 101 points to lock in a third place finish.
