Shoplifter Threatens Employee With Bottle: Redondo Beach Crime Blotter

The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from Nov. 17 to 22.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.

Shoplifting

  • Nov. 18 - 400 block of South Pacific Coast Highway
    • A man was arrested after attempting to shoplift from a business in Redondo Beach. According to RBPD, an employee stopped the suspect before he left the store without paying for items. The employee told police the suspect threatened to hit him with a bottle and fight.

Robbery

  • Nov. 17 - 1600 block of Kingsdale Avenue
    • A group of boys met after arranging to sell a Pokemon Box via social media at a prearranged location. According to RBPD, the suspects forcefully knocked the box out of one of the boy's hands, grabbed it and fled on an electric bike. No additional information was available.

Commercial Burglary

  • Nov. 17 - 1500 block of Aviation Boulevard
    • A suspect attempted to enter a business after hours by breaking the glass front door. The store's alarm system triggered, which caused the suspect to flee. No additional information was available.

Residential Burglary

  • Nov. 17 - 500 block of Esplanade
    • A man stole a Beach Cruiser bicycle from an underground parking garage, police said. The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s with blonde hair and about 5 feet and 7 inches tall.

Vehicle Burglary

  • Nov. 16-18 - 2400 block of Marine Avenue
    • A suspect stole miscellaneous household goods from the inside of a car after getting in through a rear window, police said. No additional information was available.
  • Nov. 17-18 - 100 block of North Lucia Avenue
    • A Marc Jacobs tote containing a clear plastic bag, two US passports, a driver's license, air pods, a Louis Vuitton wallet and credit cards as well as a purse, MacBook, keyboard and a mouse was reported stolen from a locked vehicle. Police said it is unclear how the suspect gained access to the vehicle.
  • Nov. 15-16 - 2200 block of Carnegie Lane
    • A Sawzall and a power drill were reported stolen from a vehicle after a suspect smashed a rear window, police said. No additional information was available.

Taken From Vehicle

  • Nov. 17-18 - 300 block of Avenue E
    • The tailgate on a Toyota was taken off, police said. No additional information was available.
