'Sky's the Limit' for Redondo XC

Redondo's girls cross country team preps for its first-ever Nike Cross Nationals on Saturday.

In an interview by RunnerSpace.com posted on the Nike Cross Nationals website Thursday, members of the girls varsity cross country team talked about their feelings toward the upcoming event.

"It's like our dream," said Rachel Bush. "Individually, it's a lot of our dreams."

This will be Redondo's first time competing at Nike Cross Nationals. The team competed at Pre-Nationals in 2010 and this year.

The team runs as a pack, the girls told RunnerSpace.com.

"[We] work together towards the front of the race," explained Cara Ulizio.

Last week, in the Division II girls CIF State Championships, earning the third-highest team time of the entire race. According to Lindsey Mull, the team went through a lot at the state meet and is ready for nationals.

"The sky's the limit, I guess," Mull said.

Ulizio, Mull, Bush, Kayla Ferron, Nicole Pederson, Alexis Thibodeau and Anique Villegas will run in Saturday's national championship race.
