Son Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Father In Torrance

A son was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his 52-year-old father in Torrance, police said.

TORRANCE, CA — A son was accused of fatally stabbing his father with a kitchen knife in Torrance, police said Tuesday.

The fatal stabbing was reported about 4:20 p.m. Sunday in the 4500 block of 231st Street, just south of Lomita Boulevard, police said.

Police found a 52-year-old man suffering from a stab wound. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, died from his injuries at the home.

During the preliminary investigation, investigators found out that the victim and his adult son were involved in an earlier disturbance, police said.

The son left the residence for a short time and later returned home. When he returned the son had a kitchen knife and stabbed his father, then fled the home before police arrived.

Police later found the son, whose name was not immediately released, and took him into custody without further incident. The son was later booked on suspicion of murder at the Torrance Police Department.
