The suspect was described as being in his 40s, with short black hair and light to medium facial hair, similar to a 'five o'clock shadow.'

Torrance police asked Wednesday for the public’s help in locating a suspect who committed an early morning robbery at a McDonalds restaurant.

The man entered the restaurant at 5019 Torrance Blvd. about 3 a.m. last Friday, bought a coffee and sat down in a booth. He then got up and approached the eatery’s supervisor in the men’s restroom, indicating he had a handgun underneath his hoodie.

The victim could feel something against his back, which he believed was a gun, as the suspect ordered him to the restaurant’s safe, police said.
