USCG Warns of Increased Activity at Torrance Airport
U.S. Coast Guard flight crew standardization checks will take place from Wednesday through Feb. 11, according to a news release from the organization.
The U.S. Coast Guard's Los Angeles Air Station is warning residents who live around Torrance Airport of an increase in helicopter traffic during the next two weeks.
Coast Guard personnel will be undergoing their annual flight crew standardization checks for the MH-65 Dolphin helicopters through Feb. 11, according to a news release from the Coast Guard.
The flight checks test a pilot's ability to handle emergencies like engine failure and other "critical facets of being a military aviator," the Coast Guard said.

The checks will primarily be conducted from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., and the Coast Guard is attempting to keep the flights as short as possible.
Additionally, the air station will be using other airports throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
