Winning Lottery Ticket Sold in Redondo
A Mega Millions ticket that matched five of the six numbers drawn Tuesday night was sold at Greenleaf Tobacco in South Redondo Beach.

Though there were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Tuesday night's drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery, one of two California tickets that matched five of the six numbers was sold in Redondo Beach, according to the California Lottery.
The Redondo ticket, which was sold at in South Redondo Beach, and the other California ticket, which was sold in Lompoc, are each worth $227,823. The remaining eight tickets—two sold in New York, and one each in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina and Texas—are each worth $250,000, City News Service reported.
California law requires most major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

Because no ticket matched all six numbers, Friday's jackpot will be $61 million, according to the California Lottery.
The numbers drawn Tuesday night were 3, 5, 10, 26 and 27. The Mega number was 27. The estimated jackpot was $51 million.

The drawing was the sixth since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 40.
The Mega Millions game is played in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
