Woman Killed In Crash With Drunken Driving Suspect In Redondo Beach
A woman was killed in a fatal traffic collision with a drunk driving suspect Monday night in Redondo Beach, authorities announced.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — A woman was killed in a fatal traffic collision with a drunken driving suspect Monday night in Redondo Beach, authorities announced.
According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, the collision was reported at about 6:39 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the intersection of Rindge Lane and Artesia Boulevard. In response to the crash, nearby streets were closed for about 11 hours while officers conducted an investigation of the crash.
The victim in the crash was declared dead at the scene, and officers said her identity is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin by the Los Angles County Medical Examiner/Coroner's Office.

Following the crash, the driver of the vehicle believed to be the cause of the collision was transported to a local hospital to treat their injuries. Medical staff have not yet cleared the driver for release, and their identity was withheld due to the status of the investigation and their current medical condition.
The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation, however, police are preparing to present felony criminal charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office later this week for filing consideration.
