2 Arrested In Redwood City Bicycle Heist: Police

Police have arrested two men suspected of stealing more than $50,000 worth of high-end bicycles from a Redwood City shop in early June.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police have arrested two Redwood City men that investigators allege were responsible for a large bike theft in the city in early June.

In a news release, the Redwood City Police Department said it began an investigation after the suspects broke into the Chain Reaction Bicycle Shop on June 1 and stole multiple high-end bicycles with a combined value of more than $50,000.

The investigation eventually led detectives to two suspects, identified Friday as Jose Guadalupegomez, 32, and Joe Rivera, 27, both of Redwood City. Both men were booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

The case is still active, and investigators have yet to locate most of the stolen bicycles. Detectives also believe more people may have been involved in the crime.
