2 Redwood City Teens Report Harassment From Men

Police said two young girls were harassed by adult men in unrelated incidents this month.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Detectives in Redwood City are investigating two separate reports of unidentified men harassing teen girls, according to police. Officials on Tuesday said the first case happened during the afternoon hours on Aug. 18 near the bus turnaround at 1 James. A 13-year-old girl told police a man in his 50s with only one eye approached her, offering candy and marijuana cigarettes before she boarded the bus.

In the second case, reported on the afternoon of Aug. 23, a 16-year-old Sequoia High School student told police she was approached by a bearded man in his 20s or 30s who was wearing paint-spattered clothes and driving a white minivan. The girl said the man asked to pay her $150 to give him a massage. The girl left the area and went inside the school

Police said there was no apparent connection between the two cases but asked parents and students to stay vigilant.
