Man Wanted In Park Attack Arrested In Redwood City: Police
The accused assailant faces a felony charge after police allege he pinned a man on a car hood and punched him repeatedly.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — The Redwood City Police Department this week arrested a man accused of beating a man at Spinas Park earlier in the month.
According to police, the attack happened in the early evening on Aug. 8, when a man threw the victim onto the hood of a vehicle, held him by his throat, and punched him repeatedly in the face. The victim was treated for head injuries at Kaiser Hospital.
Police said an investigation identified the suspect in the attack as Jose Guadalupe Naranjo, 48, of Redwood City.

Earlier this week, an off-duty officer recognized Naranjo at a local coffee shop and called in the sighting. Officers responded to the scene and took him into custody. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
