We might still have a storm or two on the horizon but judging by all the blooms popping in our garden, it’s spring. So this spring, while you’re stopping to smell the roses, take some time to appreciate all the great things your Redwood City libraries provide. Why? Because April 3rd is Library Giving Day.

Redwood City Library Foundation (https://www.RCLFdn.org) is raising funds through a Library Giving Day campaign. This one-day online fundraising event on April 3rd encourages patrons and library lovers to make a gift to their individual library. To make sure our youngest patrons have a chance to contribute, we will have an actual piggy bank located at the Downtown Redwood City Library on April 3rd.

This campaign reminds us that libraries, small and large, serve as a cornerstone for our communities.

Our Redwood City Libraries and the awesome librarians and assistants at each do way more than just dust the books and take them on and off shelves. They provide Story Times, singalongs, the Makerspace, the computers, iPads, and Wi-Fi hot spots that can be borrowed.

Consider a donation or just get yourself down to the nearest Redwood City Library and find what you’ve been looking for, or be surprised at finding something you didn’t even know you needed.

Need proof your fellow citizens are looking for and finding at the Redwood City Libraries?

“I love singing and reading during story time. Thank you for all the fun stories. We look forward to coming every Wednesday.”( Pia, 1.5 years)

Compare that to this OLL (old-school library lover).

“I have loved this library since I was 6 years old and move to RC from SF. That was 75 years ago! Getting armfuls of books was, and still is, such a thrill. Thank you, thank you.” (Judy, aged 81)

“Dearest library. . . You are a gem in my life – thank you for everything you do to create space and time for reading.” (Div, no age given)

And it’s more than books people love about their library.

“I love the library because the staff is so helpful, and they make your experience so much fun, and you can always find what you need. There is also so much entertainment other than books. The computers and Makerspace are perfect ways to unwind and get your spirits up.” (Olivia, 10)

As important as all the books, music CDs, magazines and reference books, sometimes it’s hard to find the right one. Unless, of course, you’re at one of the Redwood City Libraries.

“I love the Makerspace and all of the great programs, volunteers and staff, for creating a space where I can explore the depths of my imagination.” (Gadget, no age given)
