Sheriff's Office Plans Labor Day DUI Checkpoints In San Mateo Co.
The checkpoints will be in Half Moon Bay and San Carlos, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting DUI checkpoints over Labor Day Weekend, as it advises drivers to refrain from operating a vehicle while impaired.
One checkpoint will be Monday in Half Moon Bay on Highway 1, north of Kelly Avenue. A second will be in San Carlos on Friday on the 600-700 blocks of El Camino Real.
Additional officers will be looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence around San Mateo County, according to the sheriff’s office. Drivers will also be asked to provide a valid driver’s license.

The sheriff’s office said that the locations of DUI checkpoints are chosen based on collision statistics and the frequency of DUI arrests, along with safety considerations for the officers and the public.
