Two Everest Students Finalists In Statewide Contest

Irvin Farfan and Kevin Garcia made a video about how the Sequoia Health Care network contributes to the community.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- Two students from Everest Public High School in Redwood City were selected for their "Sequoia Health Care District Video" as a finalist in the 2018 Districts Make the Difference Student Video Contest.

Irvin Farfan and Kevin Garcia made the production as one in three finalists in the statewide contest, which encourages high school and college students to learn about the local governments that provide their families essential services such as water, electricity, fire protection, wastewater and garbage removal, among other aspects of life in their communities.

Students were challenged to create a 60-second video highlighting how special districts have enhanced the lives of Californians through the delivery of local services and infrastructure to their community. Between now and Nov. 30, the public will vote for their favorite video at www.DistrictsMakeTheDifference.org/Video-Contest. The three highest vote-winners will collectively receive $3,500 in scholarship prizes.
