Redwood City detectives posed as sellers of Rolex watches and set up a meeting with the men outside a Chase Bank.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — An undercover operation by the Redwood City Police Department helped arrest three men who they believed were involved in stealing Rolex watches from victims around the Bay Area who had arranged to sell the watches online.
The men, DaVante Hunt, Daron Meacham and Tyrell Riley, all in their early-to-mid 20s, were charged with robbery, conspiracy and felony evading.
Last Friday, Redwood City detectives posed as sellers of Rolex watches and set up a meeting with the men outside a Chase Bank in Redwood City, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s office. Hunt stole a Rolex box with a $13,000 watch inside from an undercover detective and then escaped to a getaway car driven by Riley, prosecutors said.
