What’s Closed On Memorial Day In Redwood City

Many employers, government offices and services will close to observe the Monday holiday across California.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — On Memorial Day, the bustle of daily business will slow down a bit in California as swaths of government offices, banks and businesses close to observe the holiday.

The holiday, which honors men and women of the military who died in service, was recognized as a holiday in 1971.

In Redwood City, trash collection through Recology will not be affected. SamTrans will operate a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day. Click here for the bus schedules. Caltrain will also run a weekend schedule.

In Redwood City, the following banks will be closed on Memorial Day:

  • First Republic Bank: 776 El Camino Real
  • Bank of the West: 900 Veterans Blvd STE 100
  • Citi Bank: 1073 El Camino Real
  • PNC Bank: 660 Woodside Rd
  • Wells Fargo Bank: 1500 Woodside Rd,2099 Broadway and 1475 Woodside Rd,
  • U.S. Bank: 1475 Woodside Rd

All government offices and schools will also close, courts will not be in session, and the Department of Motor Vehicles will shut down.

In Redwood City and across the state, the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver on Memorial Day. UPS will not deliver or pick up on Monday. FedEx services will also likely be closed.

Restaurants and grocery stores will likely remain open to accommodate Californians who have the day off.
