Cop Arrested In Connection With Rohnert Park DUI Crash: Report

Michael Brovelli, 49, of San Rafael, has not yet been charged in connection with the Rohnert Park crash, the report said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA β€” A Marin County sheriff’s sergeant was arrested in connection with a DUI collision in Sonoma County, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

Michael Brovelli, 49, of San Rafael, has not yet been charged and has a court appearance tentatively scheduled for April 1 in connection with the Rohnert Park crash, the report said.

Brovelli was driving a department vehicle around 6 p.m. March 4 when he crashed into a fire hydrant on Camino Colegio near Magnolia Avenue, the report said.

Rohnert Park police were awaiting Brovelli’s blood alcohol test results, according to the report.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal investigation of Brovelli, the report said.

Brovelli was off-duty and was driving an unmarked vehicle at the time of the crash, Marin County Sheriff Robert Doyle told the IJ.
