Delivery Driver Threatened With Gun In Parking Dispute
Police arrested a man who they said threatened a delivery driver with a gun.
Police arrested a Santa Rosa man Sunday after he allegedly showed a handgun to a food delivery driver during a parking dispute, authorities said.
Officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department were called around 3:44 p.m. to the 800 block of Sonoma Avenue after a report of a man brandishing a firearm. The victim reportedly told officers that the suspect displayed a black handgun tucked in his waistband and asked if there was a problem as the driver moved his car out of the suspect's parking space after completing a delivery.
Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Santa Rosa resident John Nicolopoulos. Officers set up a perimeter around his residence and used a patrol vehicle's public address system to order him outside. After several minutes, Nicolopoulos complied and was taken into custody.

Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Nicolopoulos' home and vehicle. A police K-9 trained to detect firearms helped officers search the residence. The dog allegedly alerted officers to a laundry basket in a bedroom, where they found a loaded Glock 23 .40-caliber handgun hidden under clothing.
An unloaded .223-caliber rifle was also found inside a rifle case in the living room. Both firearms were registered to Nicolopoulos, police alleged.
