Fatal North Bay Motorcycle Crash Victim ID'd

The fatal crash was reported just after 6:30 a.m. Monday on southbound U.S. Highway 101 south of San Antonio Road.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A man who died in a motorcycle crash Monday morning on U.S. Highway 101 near Novato has been identified as 46-year-old Michael C. Grossman, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The fatal crash was reported just after 6:30 a.m. near on southbound U.S. 101 south of the San Antonio Road offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Grossman was splitting lanes when traffic ahead suddenly slowed and he rear-ended a van, then spun around and hit a truck in the slow lane, the CHP said.

He was thrown from the motorcycle, according to the CHP.

Both southbound lanes were blocked until 9 a.m. as a result of the fatal incident near Olompali State Historic Park.
