Driver Identified In Fatal Rohnert Park Crash
Eastbound Rohnert Park Expressway was closed until 9 a.m. Saturday while the fatal crash was investigated.
ROHNERT PARK, CA β Authorities have identified Robert Scott Hurtado, a 38-year-old local transient, as the man who died early Saturday in a suspected intentional crash in Rohnert Park.
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received a 911 call at 3:55 a.m. Saturday regarding a single-car crash in the 600 block of Rohnert Park Expressway.
Rohnert Park DPS police, fire and EMS personnel arrived on scene within minutes and found a gray two-door sedan on its roof in the eastbound lanes of Rohnert Park Expressway. Inside the car, they found a man dead in the driver's seat.

"The investigation showed that the vehicle collision was a result of an intentional act where the driver took his own life," the Rohnert Park DPS said in a news release.
Because the crash blocked part of the eastbound lanes of Rohnert Park Expressway, the department closed the roadway and sent out a Nixle alert advising the public to avoid the area. The roadway reopened five hours later, at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities asked anyone with information regarding the case to call 707-584-2600 and refer to case No. 23-2011.
