North Bay Post Offices Host Weekly Job Fairs

The U.S. Postal Service has nearly 1,000 job openings across the Bay Area, some of which need to be immediately filled.

SONOMA AND MARIN COUNTIES, CA β€” The U.S. Postal Service announced Monday it is hosting weekly job fairs to fill immediate openings across Sonoma and Marin counties.

Every Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. through the months of May and June, jobseekers can stop by one of the following four locations:

  • Belvedere-Tiburon Post Office, 6 Beach Road, Belvedere-Tiburon, CA
  • Novato Post Office, 1537 S. Novato Blvd. Novato, CA
  • Corte Madera, 7 Pixley Ave., Corte Madera, CA
  • Rohnert Park, 150 Raleys Towne Center Rohnert Park, CA

At the job fairs, applicants will be guided through the entire online application process by USPS staff, hear from real employees and submit their applications in real-time for positions posted on Usps.com/careers.

The Postal Service has nearly 1,000 job openings across the Bay Area, with an immediate need to hire mail clerks and mail handlers, city and rural delivery carriers, tractor-trailer operators, mechanics, laborer custodians, and automotive technicians.

Those who can't make it to a job fair in person can submit an application online at Usps.com/careers. They must keep a steady eye on their email after each application submission, as the USPS will set a date to continue the application process.

There are some eligibility requirements in order for a person to be considered for a job with the Postal Service. Applicants must be 18 years old, or 16 years old with a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions require an exam. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver's license and a clean DMV two-year driving history. Citizenship or permanent resident status of five years is required.
