Santa Rosa Police On Heightened Alert In Jewish Community
The SRPD Intelligence Team is searching for any local events, calls for action, or threats that aim to fear or harm the Jewish community.
SANTA ROSA, CA β In the wake of recent acts of terror in Israel, police in Santa Rosa have gone on high alert for any possible hate activity in the city, the Santa Rosa Police Department said Friday.
Santa Rosa police Chief John Cregan personally reached out to leaders within the Jewish community to address any concerns and offer support, while extra patrols were being conducted for any possible suspicious activity at the city's Jewish synagogues, community center and preschool, police said.
Additionally, the SRPD Intelligence Tea is actively searching for any local events, calls for action, or threats that aimed to fear or harm those in the Jewish community, police said.

The actions by the department are entirely proactive and not the result of any actual threat or act of violence, Santa Rosa police said.
"The Santa Rosa Police Department will not tolerate hateful behavior and ask for the communityβs help in alerting us to any suspicious activities or potential threats," police said. "Please immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 911 for emergencies or the SRPD Communications Center at 707-528-5222 for non-emergencies."
