Narcotics, license plates and firearm discovered in Rocklin traffic stop (fox40.com) — A Sacramento man was arrested after Rocklin police say a late-night traffic stop uncovered suspected methamphetamine, a loaded homemade gun, and items tied to possible identity theft. Officers report finding mismatched license plates and blank checks from multiple people before taking the 33-year-old Sacramento resident into custody. 3. 3 CSU campuses named California Black-Serving Institutions in 2025 (edsource.org) — Sacramento State is one of three CSU campuses newly designated as California Black-Serving Institutions, unlocking grant funding tied to strong Black student enrollment and support programs. 4. ‘Sticky fingers': Over $10,000 in stolen goods recovered by Elk Grove police (fox40.com) — Elk Grove police say seven recent retail theft operations led to 36 arrests and nearly $11,000 in stolen merchandise recovered, with help from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. The crackdown, focused on protecting local businesses during the holidays, included coordinated efforts with Roseville police and targeted popular shopping centers. Authorities framed the campaign as part of broader regional anti-theft work.
