Sacramento Police Department: Homicide Investigation And Arrest - 3200 Block Of Norwood Avenue

On February 12, 2022 just after 12:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 3200 block of Norwood Avenue for a report of an assault. Once officers arrived on scene, they located one victim, a female adult, who sustained multiple stab wounds. Officers rendered emergency medical aid and the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Responding officers safely detained the suspect, a male adult, at the scene. He was arrested and later booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for homicide.

Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene and canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses. This investigation is still in its early stages and information is limited, however it is believed that the victim and suspect were known to each other.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
