5 San Diego County Students Win Sustainability Scholarships From Wheelhouse Credit Union

Wheelhouse Credit Union's Sustainability College Scholarship Program supports the next generation of environmental stewards.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Five students in San Diego County were awarded scholarships in recognition of their leadership, public service and desire to make a sustainable difference in their schools and communities.

In an effort to support the next generation of environmental stewards, Wheelhouse Credit Union gave $1,000 scholarships to five college-bound students through its annual Sustainability College Scholarship Program.

These are the 2025 Wheelhouse Sustainability Scholarship recipients:

"Our commitment to sustainability includes empowering the next generation of leaders who are dedicated to preserving our beautiful San Diego environment," Wheelhouse CEO and President Lisa Paul-Hill said. "We're proud to recognize these remarkable young changemakers for their dedication to advancing sustainable practices in their communities. We celebrate their achievements and are excited to see the positive impact they will make in the years to come."

Wheelhouse's Sustainability College Scholarship Program was created in 2005 to recognize conscientious high school leaders in San Diego County who share the credit union's passion to positively impact the community through eco-friendly initiatives to help sustain the environment and resources for generations to come. Since the creation of the program, Wheelhouse has awarded $137,000 in scholarships, according to the credit union.
