SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the holiday weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.
But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect cooler conditions and a chance of rain this week, according to the National Weather Service.
"Much cooler than normal temperatures will continue through the next several days, before warmer conditions return for next weekend," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. "It will be windy at times today and tonight. There is a small chance of rain or drizzle today and a better chance on Wednesday. Areas of low clouds will be common over the coast and coastal valleys, with areas of clearing each afternoon."

In other news, some Southern California residents woke up to an earthquake early Monday morning.
A 3.6 magnitude quake was recorded at 4:22 a.m. about 4 miles north of Malibu, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck days after a 4.7 magnitude temblor, also centered in the Malibu area, rattled Southern California.

Dozens of people were displaced and a man was critically injured after a fire damaged a vacant three-story apartment building under construction, along with other buildings in the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles.
An Orange County man and his live-in girlfriend were arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography, authorities said. Police asked for the public's help in identifying other potential victims.
Two people were stabbed at a campground in northern San Diego County, authorities said.
