Coaster Rail Service Suspended Next Weekend In San Diego County
The suspension will take place for Coaster service between San Diego and Oceanside.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The North County Transit District will temporarily suspend all coastal rail service next weekend for maintenance and major infrastructure work.
The suspension will take place on Oct. 25 and 26 for Coaster service between San Diego and Oceanside. Regularly scheduled service will resume the morning after the closure on Oct. 27, according to NCTD officials.
"Weekend closures occur periodically throughout the year on a pre-determined schedule to provide construction crews the opportunity to work safely on and along the rail line to complete preventative maintenance improvements and advance major railroad construction projects," the district said in a statement.

Maintenance will include work on the Del Mar Bluffs stabilization, Sorrento Valley Station and Rose Canyon track maintenance projects, Carlsbad signal optimization, and San Diego LOSSAN rail realignment projects according to the district.
No passenger or freight trains will be operating during the closure, but test trains, construction vehicles and equipment will be active throughout the weekend. Officials advised residents to remain alert along the corridor and to only cross the rail line at designated rail crossings.
