County Election Officials Encourage Voters To Vote Early

SAN DIEGO, CA — With Election Day less than two weeks away, San Diego County election officials are encouraging voters to vote early.

The San Diego Registrar of Voters office sent more than 1.7 million reminder postcards to registered voters in the county who had not voted as of Oct. 17.

The Registrar's office recommended using early voting options to avoid long lines. Voters can cast their ballots by mail, drop off ballots at an official ballot drop box, or vote at any vote center in the county.

Early voting is already underway at the Registrar's office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Voters can vote from the comfort of their home. The Registrar's office reminded voters to sign and date the return envelope, seal the completed ballot inside and return it by mail.

Voters also have the option of dropping off ballots at one of the Registrar's 150 official ballot drop boxes. The secure stand-alone boxes feature the Registrar's logo along with the county seal and are labeled "Official Ballot Drop Box." All ballot drop boxes will close at 8 p.m. Nov. 5.

For those who prefer to vote in person, 39 vote centers will open starting Saturday, Oct. 26. More than 200 locations will be available on the following Saturday, Nov. 2. The vote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Nov. 4. On the final day of voting, Nov. 5, all vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
