Eatery Exposed To Hepatitis A Had Health Violations: Report
World Famous in Pacific Beach reportedly violated state health codes in the past, according to a report.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- A restaurant that was possibly exposed by Hepatitis A reportedly violated state health codes in the past.
Health officials in September said customers and employees at World Famous restaurant in Pacific Beach may have been exposed to Hepatitis A. But before that announcement, the popular eatery received low marks from health inspectors.
Therestaurant received a grade of 83 by county inspectors, which is apparently a low score compared to other local eateries, according to a report by The San Diego Union-Tribune.

"Restaurants rarely receive a grade that low, according to county data. Since 2013, about 450 facilities out of more than 17,000 inspected have received a score below 90, a U-T Watchdog review of county data shows. About 260 received grades of 83 or less," the report said.
The Hepatitis A outbreak has so far killed 19 people in San Diego County with hundreds of others exposed to the disease. The unprecedented number of cases have caused officials to declare a state of emergency, offer free vaccinations and install more public restrooms.
