High Temps Forecast: Parts Of San Diego County Under Excessive Heat Warning

Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illness, according to the National Weather Service.

SAN DIEGO, CA — An excessive heat warning is in effect for parts of San Diego County as well above average high temperatures are forecast in the deserts and inland valleys.

The warning will be in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday for the county's deserts and valleys, according to the National Weather Service.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected with temperatures from 108 to 115 degrees in the deserts, according to the NWS. High temperatures are expected in the upper 90s to 106 degrees in the valleys.

"Hot conditions with well above average temperatures are expected through into early next week for inland areas," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Tuesday. "A shallow marine layer will help moderate temperatures at the coast."

Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illness, according to the NWS. People should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
