From my notebook:
- A smoother ride: "Cruising into the weekend on repaved roads. Crews removed and replaced several inches of asphalt across parts of Division Street in Valencia Park this week, leaving San Diegans with a smoother ride! Mayor Todd Gloria is pushing for more of this work in the future. His recently proposed "Getting It Done" budget for fiscal year 2024 includes $104 million for full repaving. That's up from the $18 million allocated for full repaving in the current fiscal year 2023 budget!" (City of San Diego via Facebook)
- A wave of animals: "Spring has sprung, bringing with it a wave of animals in need of our help — and yours! The generosity of friends like you will help us provide rescue, shelter, and lifesaving medical care to thousands of vulnerable animals at this busy time of year. Fortunately, if you give today, your donation will be matched by our friends Dr. Charles and Mrs. Carol Baum, and go TWICE as far to make an even bigger impact the pets and wildlife counting on us! Please give here on Facebook or visit sdhumane.org/SpringMatch to donate."
- Stop the misinformation: "San Diego County health misinformation is spreading faster than ever! It has been declared a public health crisis. Let’s take action to stop health misinformation. Learn how to protect yourself by reading the Surgeon General’s Community Toolkit at SurgeonGeneral.gov/HealthMisinformation. (San Diego County Library via Facebook)
