Tips Sought In Deadly Shooting Outside San Diego Hookah Lounge

Detectives are trying to determine the circumstances that led to the victim's death.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities sought the public's help Thursday in identifying a gunman who fatally shot a man and wounded a woman outside a San Diego hookah lounge six months ago.

The shooting happened at 4:36 a.m. June 20 in the parking lot of Nara Ultra Lounge at 8065 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., according to the San Diego Police Department.

The shooter fled in a vehicle prior to the arrival of patrol officers, who found 21-year-old Luis Miguel Sandoval Diaz and a 37-year-old woman suffering from bullet wounds.

Paramedics took the victims to a hospital, where Diaz was pronounced dead, police said. The woman, whose name was not released, was treated and released later that morning.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact the San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
