Luxurious San Diego Resort Lands On 'Best In U.S.' List
One San Diego resort is considered among the best in the country, according to a new list from Travel + Leisure.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A well-known resort in San Diego County landed on a list of the best resorts in the country from Travel + Leisure.
Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe ranked No. 12 in the continental U.S., according to the travel magazine's annual "World's Best Awards" survey for 2025.
Readers selected the winning resorts and favored places that offer secluded luxury in nature. Nearly 180,000 readers completed the survey, with more than 657,000 votes cast across 8,700 properties. Resorts were rated on rooms/facilities, location, food, service and value.

"Find a slice of Europe in Southern California at Rancho Valencia, a Spanish-inspired resort where guests can book their own private casita," the author wrote. "Take part in racquet programs, including tennis, padel, and pickleball, then spend time in the five-star spa to unwind."
