Man Wounded In Drive-By Shooting In San Diego

The 24-year-old was in an apartment courtyard when struck by gunfire, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 24-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Thursday evening in Logan Heights.

A dark colored vehicle was going eastbound in the 2200 block of Ocean View Boulevard, near Sampson Street, about 8:20 p.m. when a suspect fired several shots at the victim, who was standing in the courtyard of an apartment complex and was struck in the lower back, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

The vehicle continued eastbound on Ocean View Boulevard and out of sight, he said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, Heims said.

His name was not released.

Ocean View Boulevard from 28th Street to Sampson Street was closed as police investigated the shooting.
