Motorcyclist Injured In Crash With Car On Torrey Pines Road

The motorcycle rider, 61 suffered multiple fractures in the wreck, officials said.

LA JOLLA, CA — A 61-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured when he collided with a vehicle on Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla, police said Monday.

The collision happened at 9:01 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Little Street and Torrey Pines Road, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

A 19-year-old man was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger south on Little Street when he stopped at a stop sign at the intersection before making a westbound turn onto Torrey Pines Road, the officer said.

The Dodge pulled into the path of the 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which collided with the driver's side front fender of the car.

The motorcycle rider suffered multiple right femur fractures, the officer said.

The driver of the Dodge was uninjured and DUI was not a factor, Heims said. San Diego Police Traffic Division was investigating.
