Parfait Party Returning To Tajima Ramen For Maid Café Takeover Event In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — Japanese pop and San Diego foodie culture will combine for a one-day pop-up experience at a San Diego ramen restaurant.

Parfait Party, San Diego's ice cream-themed maid café, is teaming up with Tajima Ramen for a takeover event Sept. 20 at Tajima Ramen Mercury in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood. Following the success of their first collaboration, Parfait Party plans to bring more kawaii charm, live entertainment, and a new limited-edition menu to Tajima's Mercury Street location.

"Parfait Party is excited to return to Tajima Ramen for another maid café experience," Happie, lead maid at Parfait Party, told Patch.

"As an event-based maid cafe, finding partners who share our vision is essential to what we do, and we’re incredibly grateful to Tajima for being that reliable partner. Most maid cafes in the U.S. only appear at anime conventions, so being able to bring an Akihabara-style experience to a local restaurant is truly special."

The event will feature live performances by Parfait Party maids, Parfait Party and Tajima food and drinks, and an interactive café experience with themed décor and kawaii service.

Special menu items will include a crunchy dragon roll, Japanese curry and rice, an Omurice omelette, Tonkotsu ramen and more. Drink specials will include strawberry unfiltered sake and the Parfait Prism Potion, a sweet and floral color-changing cocktail made with vodka, butterfly pea flower tea, lemon juice and elderflower syrup. Desserts will include Mochi Flight with Neapolitan mochi ice cream and matcha panna cotta.

The event will take place from 1-6 p.m. Sept. 20 at Tajima Ramen at 4411 Mercury St. #110 in San Diego. No reservations required. Seating is first come, first serve.
